Evan Andrew Horwitz is theater artist based in New York City. He is an actor, director, and playwright with an MFA in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Repertory Company. He serves on the artistic staff and is a member of The COOP. Favorite recent projects include Ragtime (Trinity Rep), the West Coast Premiere of Michael Perlman's At the Table (On The Verge), Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire (Brown/Trinity), and an ongoing collaboration with playwright Julia Izumi, for whom he has originated several roles. He recently made his full-length directorial debut with God of Carnage (Brown/Trinity). As a playwright, Evan is the winner of the David Wickham Award; his play Partial Totality was selected for the Brown/Trinity Playwrights’ Lab, and his solo show Anne Frank Live at the Plaza! had a workshop at The Granoff Center. His additional training includes work at La Mama Umbria and the British American Drama Academy. He holds a B.A. in English from Bowdoin College.
